Machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry

The major Machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry is a bachelor study programme in the field of mechanical engineering. It was approved by the ARACIS assessment commission in December 2012.

Mission

Training mechanical engineers to design andcoordinate technological processes for machinery and equipment in the field of food industry and agriculture.

Objectives

• The analysis, calculation and design of machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry.
• Knowledge of the technological processes specific to agriculture and food industry.
• Modeling and simulation of processes specific toagriculture and food industry;using the necessary software.
• Learning methods of manufacturing, maintenance, reliability and operation of machines and equipmentin agriculture and food industry.
• Designing, organizing and managing production processes in the manufacturing of tractors, machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry.
• Designing, organizing and managing technologies related to machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry.
• Organizing and managing the maintenance, repair and revision services in agriculture and food processing units.
• The ability to work independently and in teams; interdisciplinary cooperation and innovation.
• Knowledge of modern farm managementmethods.
• Knowledge of financial, accounting and law enforcement aspects in the field of agriculture and food industry in line with European standards.
• Ability to be effective and efficient.

Subjects

The list of subjects in the curriculum and the content of these subjects correspond to the bachelor study programme in the field of mechanical engineering.

The educational facilities where the activities of this faculty are carried out belong to the BUASVM University in Timisoara, as well as technological laboratories in the UP Timisoara.

The teaching staff is made up of tenured teachers and associated teachers.

The graduates of the faculty obtain a diploma and title of Mechanical Engineer in the field of Machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry.

The diploma and obtained the title of engineer graduates is a diplomat.

The specialization Machinery and equipment for agriculture and food industry has been approved according to the ARACIS report nr. 6050/20.12.2012.
